Pre-Adventure

As most of you know, I'm just 11 days away from shipping out to France for a Study Abroad with BYU. I leave January 15 and will be there for 3 months! I'm way excited, but also quite nervous at the same time. I express my fears of flying solo on a regular basis, and I'm having a little anxiety that for some reason I won't make it through customs, I'll miss my connecting flight, be stranded at the Atlanta airport, and ultimately not make it to Paris to meet with my group. And of course, if I do make it through customs, I'm almost positive that I'll get lost in the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, not be able to meet with my group, they will leave in our BlueVan without me, I won't know where to call or where to go, and then I will be stranded in a foreign country where they speak really really fast all by myself.
On a more positive note, I'm trying to remember that I'll have 3 months to find my group before the program is over, but hopefully I won't have any problems! I'm rooming with a girl named Karin (pronounced Kar-in like car-insurance, not Karen) who is absolutely darling. She is from California and I know we will be having loads of fun together! Hopefully everyone will still want to be our friend when we both come back 25 pounds heavier.
Well I'm new to the blogging world, so if anyone has any tips or anything, let me know. :) I'm planning on updating this blog on a regular basis with pictures and stories of my Parisian adventures. Wish me luck everyone!

  2. You are SO cute! I'm so excited! But I have to admit, I totally share every single one of your fears about arriving!! Though I do promise that we won't leave in the BluVan without you...as long as I can find it too. Otherwise, there's no promise, everyone will leave, and we'll both be stranded! =]
